During April 2009,
at The Television & Movie Store, I was lucky enough to meet some Red Dwarf stars.
This signing event featured Robert Llewellyn, who played Kryten, the
ship's robot in the classic science-fiction comedy.
As usual, I arrived at the store in
good time for the signing. To my amazement, the queue was already
quite long. I chatted to several people waiting with me about the
show and science fiction in general. It was not till an hour and
three quarters later that I finally got to meet Robert.
I had a brief chat with Robert about
his time in the show, but our conversation was interrupted comically
by Angela Bruce and
Craig Charles, who were also at the
event. The trio were all clearly enjoying each others company, as
well as mine, as they were pretending to argue over the pens used
for the signings.
Robert signed for a print of himself as
Kryten, plus a DVD cover and a mousemat. I enjoyed my chat to
the star, and wish it could have been longer.
