In September 2008, I returned to The Television &
Movie Store in Norwich to meet another classic Doctor Who star. This
time I met John Leeson better known as the voice of K9, the robot dog
companion of the Fourth Doctor. This was a double signing event
as Deborah Watling - Victoria
Waterfield - was also in the shop signing merchandise for fans.
I was
fortunate to be near the front of the queue in the store, so I did
not have too long to wait and see John Leeson. I chatted to the
star for a
few minutes. During this chat, I mentioned that I had been a fan of the
Doctor Who for many
years and had purchased several show DVDs and videos, some of which
featured himself providing K9's voice.
As well as providing the voice of K9 in Doctor Who,
John has starred in a variety of shows including the comedy 'Allo 'Allo,
plus fellow classic science fiction
series Blakes 7. A little known fact
about this star is that he also played Bungle in cult children's show
Rainbow, which has gained John more fans.
During my 5 minute chat with John, he signed my copy of Doctor Who: The Legend
book, plus my The
Leisure Hive DVD cover.
